Did Employer 'Interfere' with FMLA Leave?

"An Oregon woman had been a municipal billing clerk for 10 years when she developed health problems. A specialist diagnosed her with multiple chemical sensitivity, aggravated by low-grade paper and the poor air quality in her work area. She also requested a month's leave to recover her health. When she returned, she was fired.

Point to remember: Should Sommers have become ill again at work, the city needed to explore with her what kind of accommodation it could make to her condition, rather than "solving" the problem by firing her."
