Phosphate ban in dishwasher detergents coming to Peninsula

[Comment:  Congratulations on doing something good for the health of people in Washington!  There are many natural products that are just as effective.  They don't have to be eco-friendly to be good for health.  In fact, watch out for some eco-friendly products which are good for the environment, but contain ingredients toxic to human health.  The best route to go is always the most natural.  Look for full disclosure of all ingredients and don't buy anything with ingredients you are not familiar with or cannot pronounce.]

"The quest for squeaky-clean dishes has turned some law-abiding people in Spokane into dishwater-detergent smugglers.

They are bringing Cascade or Electrasol in from out of state because the eco-friendly varieties required under Washington state law don't work as well.

Spokane County became the launch pad last July for the nation's strictest ban on dishwasher detergent made with phosphates, a measure aimed at reducing water pollution."
