Lawsuit links illnesses to north St. Louis County creek


Water had been tainted by nuclear waste buried in North County.

"FLORISSANT • The children of Coldwater Creek recall carefree days spent on its banks, digging for arrowheads, catching crawfish and collecting cans in the water that snaked through their north St. Louis County neighborhoods.
They say those memories have become clouded as they learn more about nuclear waste sites near the airport that contaminated the creek starting in the 1940s. And they want to know if their cancers, autoimmune disorders, and health issues affecting their children could be linked to time spent living near and playing in the creek."
