"EIGHT residents of the Newcastle suburb of Stockton contacted a government hotline to complain of rashes and breathing difficulties after the leak of a carcinogen, hexavalent chromium, from Orica's Kooragang Island plant in early August.
But while the information was recorded by officials from the Office of Environment and Heritage, it has never been disclosed by the government, which has claimed there were ''no adverse health impacts'' from the leak."
